I need to learn how to put my hair in a bun?

ok, im asian so my hair is stick straight (literally) whenever i try to put it in a bun/ topknot the pieces stick out and look ridiculous and i have to take the bun out. This is my techique: I put it in a ponytail about halfway down my head, then twist the ponytail in a circle and put another hairband in it to make it stay. My hairs shoulderlength with a few jaw length pieces in the front by the way. How do i get the bun in w/o the stick straight peices. I dont put the jaw length pieces in the bun since i know they're too short to stay back. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the 'stickd' of hair that stick out?

well i dance so i have to do buns all the time for ballet so if you want a bun like that heres how:

1. put your hair in a ponytail

2.twist your hair while in the ponytail

3.twist it around the ponytail into the bun shape

4.put enough bun pins in to hold your bun in place

5.put a hairnet around it

6.put in more bobby pins to hold it in place during the day or whenever

if you want you could put a nice hair piece around it or just leave it like that

hope i helped!!

good luck!!

I agree with the other person who answered, messy buns look a lot better than a regular bun, here is a picture of a messy bun.

If you are really wanting to do a regular bun, you may have to let your hair grow out in order to do that because it sounds like you are doing it right but you are getting peices of hair sticking out because your hair is not long enough.
