i have a dark asian hair, thick but straight and shiny. a lot of people like the shiny-ness of my hair. but i am kind of bored with this dull black color i've always had so i'm planning to have it dyed. however, i'm worried that my hair might get damaged (which might take me long to grow back healthily?)
some people recommended a hair treatment after the dying called "powerdose hot oil". while others recommended hair cellophane.
what can you advise me? please help...
After dying my hair, what can i do to prevent it from drying/damage?
you said that your hair is already shiny then you dont need to put a lot of conditioner on there, your head will get grease if you add too much. Get a shampoo that is specificly for you color. john freda or pantene color is a suggestion. color always fade over time. choose a color that has a good pH
means- potential hydrogyen- go to sallys they have ion hair color. DO NOT get it from a box like you can get in walmart or wallgreens. IT HAS metal fiber in it that actually damage your hair. I have long black hair and I color it about every month a new color. I put a deep conditioner on it once a month. make sure you dont get a shampoo that says clairify on it. that means it will strip it.

thats funny i was bored of being blonde so i dyed it black. Well after i did that i used conditioner for color treated hair and a lot of stay in conditioners that keep ur hair silky and smooth. Dont use a lot of straighteners or when u blow dry ur hair make sure u put leave in conditioner or detangler...
that should do the trick
hope it does

You should condition it alot, there are special shampoos and conditioners for that, and don't use straighteners, curlers or blow dryers too much either.
