Why is straight hair supposed to be best?

People love straight hair and even women with straight hair spend time and money making it even straighter. I sometimes want curly hair because it looks easier to style and harder to mess up. My very straight hair is pretty easy though because the only thing I have to deal with is flatness sometimes. White women I know have hair that is not truly straight. I's bushy and wavy and when they make it straighter it doesn't always completely straighten out and gets damage from hot appliances. That is not straight hair. Why don't women like this try to curl their hair instead? It would probably hold a curl (my hair is truly straight and doesn't curl). Are they afraid to look black? That is what I think it is. White people have this phobia about blackness. Notice if a white woman has really tightly curled hair she always pulls it back. Maybe this what their men want and we know how white women love their white men. Too bad white men LOVE Asian women (with truly straight hair)!

I've got curly hair and my white boyfriend loves it. I can do anything with it from leaving it down to pulling it back. And if I ever want to go somewhere spur of the moment, hey, my hair's done! I would never want straight hair. It's very blah and doesn't really show any personality.

i don't know i have the curliest hair in my grade and i feel different with it which some days is good but when i want to have bangs they are curled and it gets really annoying and its is really hard to style.some days i really want straight hair but it is what makes my differ net out of everyone (i guess) But i love my curls!

I am a white woman with stick straight hair. It doesn't bush out or curl in any way and I am white, not mixed, English and German, white! I would like to have some waive to my hair but I don't like what perms do. My hair is like baby hair, very fine soft and straight as a pin. You are lucky, Asian hair is much more coarse than mine. I get fly aways. I ware my hair short now and I use a curling iron, but it doesn't hold. My white husband has very curly hair and he wares it short, my daughter got his hair and it is so beautiful, she is white also and loves her curls, she wares it down and long (well as long as it can get with the curl). My son got my hair, straight!!!!

I am not afraid to look black though I don't think curly hair would do that for me.

I love curly hair is sometimes has bounce and always has personality! Nothing wrong with straight hair because for years I striaghtened mine but now I am unafraid to wear my hair in curls. No one can say it looks bad either, it looks loads better than it even did permed and straightened.

An old friend of mine had the prettiest corkscrew curls she hated managing them but they were gorgeous.

Curly hair in my opinion will never go out of style.

By the way curly hair has nothing to do with "blackness" many races can have naturally curly/coily hair. I am sure that a really great guy will love me before my hair.

My suggestion: If you have straight hair- cool dont torture it every day by curling it and creating damage.

Curly? Dont torture it by making it bone straight. WE all naturally hate what we've got, but we can get over it eventually and appreciate what we have.
